Magnolia bloom

8.7 cm (3.4 in)crown to rump

The Magnolia bloom (~8–12 cm) has a strong shape and a soft center. It makes room for both steadiness and tenderness as the second trimester settles in.

This week, inside

The fetus is around 8.5 cm from head to bottom, with the head becoming rounder and more proportionate. The fetus is moving, swallowing small amounts of amniotic fluid, and passing that fluid back as the kidneys function.
