Zohra, pregnancy companion and keepsake diary · Operated by MK Studios Group LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company · This is the promise Zohra is built to.
The plain version: what you record in Zohra, your pregnancy, what you have noted, your baby’s heartbeat, your journal, is among the most personal data an app can hold. We treat it that way. No ads. No selling data. No data brokers. Health information is never used for advertising.
Without an account, it stays on your phone
You can use Zohra without an account. Until you sign in, your journal, what you log, your photos and the recordings you make are stored in a local database on your phone and are not sent to us. There is no analytics or crash-reporting software in the app. When your phone backs itself up to iCloud or a computer, your Zohra data rides along under Apple’s backup encryption; that backup is yours, and we never see it.
Signing in starts the sync. From then on your record is copied to our servers, so it survives a lost phone and reaches the partner you invite. Ask is part of Zohra Plus and needs an account, because it is answered on our servers.
What we hold when you have an account
- Your account: an email address, and a name if you give one or Apple or Google passes one on when you sign in with them. Held by our sign-in provider.
- Your record: your due date, your week, what you have noted, your journal, your milestones, your photos and the heartbeat recordings you make. Synced so you never lose it.
- Heartbeat recordings: audio you choose to record. We never read a recording for a clinical figure of any kind, and the app is never a listening device.
- Your partner space: what you choose to share with the partner you invite. You control what they see, and you can end it at any time.
- Ask: the questions you ask and the answers given, kept so your conversation is still there tomorrow.
- Your purchase, if you buy Zohra Plus: which plan you hold and when it renews or ends. Apple handles the payment. RevenueCat, our purchase processor, receives the App Store receipt and a random app user id, and never sees your card details or anything you have recorded. Once you sign in, that id is your account’s id, so the plan follows you to a new phone.
How AI is involved
Ask is answered by AI from OpenAI. Your question goes to OpenAI with the earlier turns of that conversation and the parts of your record that ground the answer: your week, the symptoms and notes you have logged, your appointments, and what the kick counter and contraction timer last timed. OpenAI does not train its models on what Zohra sends it.
A question that sounds urgent is answered by Zohra’s own fixed words. It is never sent to OpenAI, and it is left out of what later questions send.
Ask is information and companionship. It is not medical advice, and Zohra says so where it matters.
What we never do
- No ads, and no selling or sharing your data for advertising.
- No using pregnancy or health data for marketing or profiling.
- No reading of your recordings for a clinical figure, and no AI face reveals from an ultrasound.
- No following you across other companies’ apps and sites.
If something goes wrong
If your pregnancy ends in loss, the last thing you should have to fight is an app. The Notifications row turns off every knock in one tap, and Delete my account removes your whole record, on this phone and on our servers, without asking you why.
Who else touches your data
Service providers under contract, and nobody else. Each holds only what its job needs.
- Convex, the database that holds your record once you sign in.
- Cloudflare, whose storage holds your photos and recordings once you sign in.
- OpenAI, which answers Ask.
- RevenueCat, which checks a Zohra Plus purchase with Apple. It receives the App Store receipt and a random app user id, never card details.
- Apple, which handles the payment for Zohra Plus under its own privacy policy.
- Our sign-in provider, which holds your email address and name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, they confirm who you are.
Children
Zohra is for expecting and new parents, who are adults. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anybody under 13. Data about your baby is entered and owned by you.
Keeping and deleting
Your record is kept while your account is active, because it is a keepsake and that is the point.
Delete any entry and it is deleted. Delete your account and your record goes: in the app, You, then Settings, then Delete my account. It takes the record off this phone and off our database in the same press. Your photos and recordings leave Cloudflare’s storage within seconds, and within the hour if the first try fails.
The same press deletes your account at our sign-in provider, so your email address does not stay behind. How to delete your account
If you bought Zohra Plus, one record of the purchase stays: which plan you bought, its dates and Apple’s number for the purchase. Your name, email and account id come off it, but it is not anonymous: RevenueCat, which handles purchases for us, keeps its own copy of your purchase history under your account id, and Apple’s number links the two. It stays so that restoring the purchase on a new account still finds the plan you paid for. If you want it gone as well, write to hello@mkstudiosgroup.com and we will remove both.
Your rights
You can see and correct what Zohra holds: nearly all of it is visible and editable inside the app. You can take a copy with you: Export my memories, in Settings, writes your whole record to a file you keep. You can delete your account and your data from inside the app.
If you live in California or in the EU or UK, you also have the rights to know, to access, to correct, to delete, to portability, and to be treated the same for using them. Zohra does not sell or share personal information as those laws define it, so there is nothing to opt out of.
Security
Your data travels over encrypted connections and is held by providers that keep industry-standard access controls. No system is perfect. If a breach reaches your data we will tell you, as the law requires.
Changes
If this changes in a way that matters, Zohra will tell you inside the app before the change takes effect. The current version always lives at this page.

Still to be settled. The date this takes effect. How long a deleted record stays in the database backups. How long OpenAI keeps a question after answering it.
