Week 23 · Second trimester
23 weeks pregnant
Freesia
30.6 cm (12.0 in)head to heel
At about 28.9 cm from head to heel, your baby is close in length to a Freesia (~30 cm), a stem carrying a quiet row of blooms.
This week, inside
Your baby’s arms and legs are now in proportion. Movement may become easier to see from the outside over the next few weeks.
What you might be noticing
- Movement becoming part of the day. kicks may feel more present now.
- Skin and hair changes. facial darkening, oilier skin, or thicker hair can occur.
- Sleep and energy. tiredness and sleep difficulties can continue.
Small things that help
If movement has become a familiar part of the day, jot down the setting around one moment—where you were, what you heard, and what you were doing. Save questions for your next visit as they occur to you.
For the record
Where were you when a movement made you pause this week?
Zohra asks one of these every week, and keeps your answer. A year from now it is the part people say they are most glad they wrote down.
