Lily-of-the-valley bell
1 cm (0.4 in)crown to rump
A Lily-of-the-valley bell (~1 cm) is small but architectural, like a tiny shelter taking shape one curve at a time.
This week, inside
The embryo measures around 10 mm from head to bottom. The brain is growing quickly; eyelids are beginning to cover the eyes, and cartilage is forming within the lengthening limb buds.
What you might be noticing
Nausea, tiredness, and mood changes can make this week feel demanding. Smell sensitivity and bloating may also be present.

Small things that help
Leave a little more room between obligations where you can. Choose one person, place, or ritual that helps the day feel less crowded.
For the record
What kind of shelter—literal or emotional—felt good this week?
Zohra asks one of these every week, and keeps your answer. A year from now it is the part people say they are most glad they wrote down.

Keep this week
Zohra draws this same flower in the app, at this same size, and keeps what you write beside it — with your bump photos, the letters, and the sounds from your appointments.
Zohra arrives on the App Store for iPhone shortly. Everything on this site is free to read now, with no account and no sign-up.
