A Lilac floret (~5 mm) is one tiny blossom within a wider cluster—a keepsake for a week when a private change may begin to join the rest of your life.
This week, inside
The nervous system is developing, with the brain and spinal cord taking shape, while the heart begins to form. The placenta is also developing to exchange oxygen, nutrients, and waste as pregnancy continues.
What you might be noticing
Many people still do not know they are pregnant at week 5. Tiredness, nausea, breast tenderness, a metallic taste, and new food likes or dislikes can appear.

Small things that help
Let easy foods be easy; keep a few familiar options close by. If you are saving the moment, write down where you were when this week first felt real—or note that it does not feel real yet.
For the record
What did you want to remember before the details began to blur?
Zohra asks one of these every week, and keeps your answer. A year from now it is the part people say they are most glad they wrote down.

Keep this week
Zohra draws this same flower in the app, at this same size, and keeps what you write beside it — with your bump photos, the letters, and the sounds from your appointments.
Zohra arrives on the App Store for iPhone shortly. Everything on this site is free to read now, with no account and no sign-up.
