Anemone

27.4 cm (10.8 in)head to heel

At about 26.7 cm from head to heel, your baby is close in length to an Anemone (~25–30 cm): a bright bloom held on one graceful stem.

This week, inside

Fine, downy lanugo is developing, along with hair and eyebrows. Your baby can also hear noises and voices beyond the womb now.

What you might be noticing

  • Sleep shifting. tiredness and broken sleep can still be part of this week.
  • Digestion taking its time. heartburn, bloating, or constipation may be showing up.
  • Body adapting. backache, leg cramps, and feeling warmer are listed among common symptoms.

Small things that help

Let the easiest seat be yours when you can. Keep a water bottle and one small comfort item near the place you rest, and record a sound or song that belongs to this stretch of the story.

For the record

What sound, voice, or song has been part of your days this week?

Zohra asks one of these every week, and keeps your answer. A year from now it is the part people say they are most glad they wrote down.
